Meet The Team

Cilla Pershouse has been training and handling mustering dogs since 2013 and is very proud of her team. Comprised predominantly by Australian Border Collie blood lines, Cilla works with her dogs on a daily basis across all areas of the property from paddock work to yarding up and drafting. The dogs also form a special addition to the family and during their free time enjoy swimming in the dam, catching a ball or just getting spoilt with lots of pats and smooches from the kids.

Ash Barkey

The superstar of Cilla’s Muster Dog team, Ash. Featured as a participant of Series 2 of ‘Muster Dogs’ on the ABC, Ash is one very special doggie! Bred by Mick and Caroline Hudson from Dubbo in NSW, Ash is an incredibly talented Muster Dog and a beautiful companion. Named after another Aussie campion, Ash Barky is a strong heading dog with superior cover and great athleticism. She works well over a long cast and has good block and force when required. Aside from her superiority as a working stock dog Ash has a beautiful, kind but outgoing personality and let’s not forget gorgeous looking!

Molly

In every working dog team there is a foundation and in Cilla’s team it’s Molly! Being the first dog Cilla trained when she returned to the farm, Molly has proved herself to be the most valuable member over the years. She is Bred by Lee Croutch of Kilkivan in Qld and is an excellent all-rounder. Molly has a wide, soft cast with a very gentle but assertive presents on the stock. Allowing her to be excellent with all stock types from the most skittish weaners to stubborn cows. Molly is a very calm dog and travels well over long distances. Although there has been new and exciting additions to the Blue Gum Farm Muster Dogs team, Molly is still confident of her role and her bond with Cilla is unbreakable.

Axel

Wait?! A Kelpie?! Yes, that’s right….. Being the first Kelpie to form part of the Blue Gum Farm Muster Dog team, Axel has big boots to fill. Rest assured; he is up to the challenge. Bred by Paula Whitebred from South Australia, Axel is highly skilled working stock dog. He has great cover and hold but where he really shines is doing yard work and drafting. His precision, obedience and focus make him second to none for this task. In his spare time Axel enjoys being a goof ball and barking at the chooks.

Tully

A bold and brave powerhouse, Tully is bred by Tully Williams from Bendigo in NSW. If Cilla’s Muster Dog team was a football side, Tully would play in the front row. He’s strong, he is brave (sometimes too brave!) and he is the one you send in when you need to cover some ground. He does have excellent physical endurance though so he could also play on the wing?! With a very sweet and loyal nature, Tully is a vital part of the crew. He does, however suffer from anxiety and is prone to noisy outbursts if he is excited or feels left out. This is sometimes funny, sometimes not-so-funny.

Maggie

Another foundational member of the Blue Gum Farm Muster Dog team is Maggie. Although she works with Cilla alongside her team, Maggie belongs to Cilla’s husband Scott – A fact she enjoys reminding Cilla of. Maggie is pocket rocket and very quickly commands respect from the stock she works. A very sweet natured doggie who has a keen desire to work stock but an equality keen desire for chasing a ball and relaxing with the family.

Bradley

The youngest member of the Blue Gum Farm Muster Dog team, Bradley is bred by Peter and Vanessa Brady from Gooroolba in Qld. Although still an apprentice, Bradley is proving himself as a valuable member of the team and is showing exceptional skill and style when working stock. He covers well and has brilliant force, when required and is bold and confident in his role. He is showing a strong tendency to be a lead dog which is an exciting addition to any advanced working dog team. As he has grown up being loved by 3 toddlers Bradley is a polite and affectionate doggie who is a pleasure to have around.

Minty

Erm…. Yes, this fluffy little farm dog gets a spot on the wall of doggie fame! A Maltese-shih tzu who identifies as a pedigree working dog, Minty is the life of the party. Between hitching a ride in the buggy for all the best mustering jobs to begging for food at the family dinner table or relaxing on the couch, Minty has a busy life. The ultimate companion dog who gets the best of both worlds, she is the queen of this palace!
